Holy Land photo exhibition comes to Wakefield Cathedral

“50 Faces of the Holy Land” is a photographic exhibition that focuses on the history, diversity, joy and suffering of that region and which will be at Wakefield Cathedral from Friday.

Each face tells a story in the special project by Marcin Mazur, which was commissioned by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England & Wales and aims to highlight and promote the lives of the faithful in Israel, Gaza and Palestine.

The Rt Revd Tony Robinson, Bishop of Wakefield said: “I am delighted that Wakefield Cathedral is to host “The 50 Faces of the Holy Land” exhibition from Friday, February 2 until Sunday, February 11, in partnership with the Friends of the Holy Land.

“I hope people will visit this exhibition, which showcases the resilience and faith of those living in the Holy Land.

“We can stand with our brothers and sisters as a volunteer and make a difference in their lives as they face the terrible war and tragedy unfolding in the Holy Land.

“On Sunday, 11 February we will be joined by other Christians to pray for peace in a special Choral Evensong at 3.30pm and after the service there will be opportunity to learn more about the Holy Land,” Bishop Tony said.
