Talented folk in Settle have created a striking figurine of the Rt Revd Anna Eltringham, the Bishop of Ripon, from flowerpots.
The bright yellow flowerpot statue was raised respectfully up the outside of Holy Ascension's tower to occupy a prime spot overlooking the town. She will remain there smiling throughout the summer months.
“Our flowerpot Bishop is now safely on the church tower and is already creating a lot of interest!” said Revd Julie Clarkson.
Bishop Anna sent a message via Holy Ascension's Facebook page to the Settle Community and said she hopes to visit and meet her 'twin'.
Passersby may also have noticed some flowerpot scouts enjoying a campfire in the churchyard too.
The Settle Flowerpot Festival is a highlight of summer in the Dales and flowerpot trails for families highlight the amazing array of characters crafted by the festival team and local householders which are sited around the town. The festival runs until Sunday, September 7.
