Bishop Helen-Ann joined with Ripon Runners last week, collectively running the distance from Ripon to Kyiv to help raise awareness and funds to support refugees fleeing from Ukraine.
"Throughout the week members of the club ran for Ukraine, completing 1365 miles collectively," said the Bishop of Ripon, the Rt Revd Helen-Ann Hartley.
"I ran just over 9 miles with a group from the club on Sunday. There were 6 groups running, forming around 150 people in total.
"One of our member’s, Mel Dutka is married to a Ukrainian (Pete) and his family is currently in the west of the country.
"As a City of Sanctuary, Ripon has a rich heritage of offering compassion and care to all those seeking support.
"It was fantastic to get out running today, and show our solidarity with Mel and Pete and their family."
