Living in Love and Faith was a significant topic at the most recent Diocesan Synod, as the deadline for responding draws near.
Synod were given an opportunity to consider how they felt the process had gone, as well as what the next steps in our diocese and further afield might be.
The Bishop of Ripon, the Rt Revd Dr Helen-Ann Hartley, led a presentation on the journey of Living and Love and Faith, which included hearing from the some of the advocates in our diocese: The Venerable Andy Jolley, Archdeacon of Bradford; Marilyn Banister; and Sarah Hobbs.
Bishop Helen-Ann spoke about how the process had been characterised by respectful engagement, as people have approached it with openness and a willingness to listen.
There was praise given to the resources produced, as well as the pastoral principles, which were felt could be useful in the future moving forward.
A plenary session allowed for Synod members to share their positives experiences of participating in the process, as well as to have thoughtful discussions about what the future might look like.
The deadline for responding to Living in Love and Faith is Saturday, April 30, 2022.
The findings will be published in September 2022.
