An official service of welcome to install Revd Bill Braviner as the next Archdeacon of Halifax will take place at Wakefield Cathedral on Sunday, February 27.
Revd Bill has already moved to the Huddersfield Episcopal Area from the Diocese of Durham, where he was the Incumbent of St Peter Stockton-on-Tees and St John Elton.
He and his wife Angela’s families both hail from Yorkshire and the 3.30pm service will give him a warm welcome as he begins his work and ministry in the Huddersfield Episcopal Area and across our diocese.
“I’m really looking forward to coming to the Diocese of Leeds and getting to know the parishes and people, and joining in the mission and ministry of God’s Church in such a wonderful place,” Revd Bill said.
The Dean of Wakefield, the Very Revd Simon Cowling commented, ‘We are looking forward very much to welcoming people from across the whole Diocese, and especially the Halifax Archdeaconry, to Bill’s Collation.
“It’s an opportunity to give thanks for Bill and for all the gifts that he will bring to his role, and to give prayerful acknowledgment for responsibilities we all share as God’s people in the communities we serve.”
