Green Journey webinars to help churches save money and prepare for future

How the Green Journey can help churches save money and prepare for the future is the topic of a pair of upcoming webinars.

In the two webinars, taking place on Wednesday, October 19 and Thursday, October 20, Kevin Lumley and Craig Hogg from Green Energy Consulting will give a step-by-step guide to the energy markets, government energy price cap and explain the Green Journey package of services.

Jemima Parker, Diocesan Environment Officer, will offer advice on how to reduce energy use in your church this winter and how to start to make long-term changes to bring down both financial and carbon costs.

Jemima said: “These two webinars offer the opportunity to develop a better understanding of how the energy market is impacting your church bills and what you can do to reduce energy use, as well as asking questions.

“At this very challenging time for parishes, the Green Journey scheme has enabled many of our churches to be on favourably priced tariffs and be aligned to our environmental ethical stance too.

“We are fortunate to have a well-established relationship with the energy procurement specialists Green Energy Consulting, who can offer churches expert advice over the coming months.

“This winter every parish will, no doubt, be thinking about how to reduce energy use to make the bills payable.

“In the longer term we can learn how to use less energy and keep people warm, so we can offer a warm welcome and reduce our carbon footprint.”

The Green Journey scheme was started as a joint venture between the Diocese of Leeds and Green Energy Consulting to help churches reduce their energy costs and their carbon footprints.

Details for the webinar for existing Green Journey customers at 5pm on Wednesday, October 19, can be found here.
