How our larger churches can respond the challenges posed by emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic is the topic at an upcoming diocesan training day.
Recent research shows that larger churches (with over 100 people) have typically recovered less well after COVID than many smaller churches.
The Rt Revd Arun Arora, Bishop of Kirkstall, and the Ven Paul Ayers, Archdeacon of Leeds, are inviting lay and clergy leaders from larger churches to a day led by the Ven Bob Jackson, church growth consultant, and a team from Leading your Church into Growth.
Other speakers include the Ven Rhiannon King, Archdeacon of Ipswich, and the Revd Canon Robin Gamble, Bishop’s Advisor for Church Growth.
Bob and Robin will lead participants through the evidence and facilitate the discussions, looking at
- Where are we now? - Looking at larger churches, looking at the data, looking at ourselves.
- Where does the path begin? - Hearing stories from the diocese, hearing our story, hearing God’s story.
- Where do we want to be? - Setting a plan, three simple steps, setting out on the journey.
The day will take place on Wednesday, July 12, from 10.00am to 3.00pm, at Pudsey Parish Church.
