‘Mindfulness as Mission Gift’ is the name of a new publication, co-authored by a clergy member from the Diocese of Leeds.
Intended as a resource for the church, ‘Mindfulness as Mission Gift’ is written by the Rt Revd Chris Edmondson, an assistant bishop and retired member of clergy in the Bradford Area, and Karen Openshaw, founder of Karen Openshaw Consultancy (both pictured).
Karen and Bishop Chris write, “what we’re aiming to do in this publication, as we continue to emerge from the dreadful impact of the pandemic, is make connections between the popular and growing practice of mindfulness, and the church’s call to mission.”
As Professor Mark Williams expresses in his commendation, “this booklet provides a wonderfully helpful and inspiring introduction to using mindfulness inside and outside church. Their words encourage all of us to follow the pioneers of faith who felt called to go outside their comfort zone, to listen and learn from other traditions in order to bring healing and wholeness to a broken world.”
Commenting on ‘Mindfulness as Mission Gift’, the Revd Dr Michael Moynagh said it is, “a really helpful resource. The stories near the end alone are worth the money!”
Published by Fresh Expressions, ‘Mindfulness as Mission Gift’ is available to purchase on Amazon in either Kindle or paperback form.
