The Diocese of Leeds is pleased to announce Andrew Hall as the new Chair of the Diocesan Advisory Committee.
Following the retirement of the Ven Peter Townley, Andrew has been chosen to step into the role, and we’ve invited him to introduce himself.
Andrew said: “I am excited to have been chosen as the new chair of the DAC.
“Church buildings have always been a delight and fascination to me, and so the DAC Chair role supporting the advisory work of the committee will be a real privilege.
“I have worshipped at St Matts Leeds all my adult life, and since retirement from a local government role in transport planning and engineering I am enjoying my second term as a Churchwarden.
“I feel strongly that our church buildings are a visible presence of the church's ministry.
“Ensuring their sound upkeep and development for the present and future generations living in our parishes is an important part of the church's ministry to our communities.
“I look forward to playing my small part in the ambitions of our parishes for their buildings, and supporting Barnabas: Encouraging Confidence.
“Having already met the office team I am looking forward to my first meeting, getting to know the committee and gaining a better understanding of the DAC's work, and the many challenges and opportunities the diocese and its churches face.”
