More than a hundred people of different ages and nationalities turned out for an open-air service in Cliffe Castle Park on Sunday, June 5.
As part of the Jubilee celebrations, Keighley Parish decided to take their worship out in the park.
The Revd Canon Mike Cansdale, Rector of Keighley, explained: “The Platinum Jubilee coincided with our Pentecost celebrations and so it felt like the perfect combination.
“Pentecost is like the birthday of the church, as Jesus’ followers received the Holy Spirit and took to the streets to tell the good news of Jesus.
“There were members of at least six different churches and quite a few passers-by who stayed to take part.
“It can be a bit nerve-wracking organising an outdoor event like this and even though it wasn't warm we're glad the rain held off.
“I think we'll be back again so watch this space!
“I'm really grateful to the team at Cliffe Castle and I hope this was a fitting end to a fantastic weekend.”
