People from across the diocese and beyond sang their hearts out at Bradford Cathedral this weekend at a Come and Sing service.
The Choral Evensong included music from Richard Ayleward, Charles Wood, Elgar and more, with a selection of hymns also sung.
The Rt Revd Nick Baines, Bishop of Leeds, was the preacher at the service.
The Very Revd Andy Bowerman, Dean of Bradford said: "We were delighted to welcome not just Bishop Nick to this special service but also those who took the opportunity to come and sing with us.
“The choir led this ancient service beautifully.
“Bishop Nick reminded us all that the Psalms were Jesus’ hymn book and all the choir and congregation we reminded that they spoke to every situation of life."
Graham Thorpe, Director of Music at the Cathedral, said: "It was enjoyable to run our Come and Sing Diocesan Choral Festival last Sunday.
“The bolstered ranks of the choir and generous rehearsal time enabled us to approach new double choir repertoire, the glorious Wood in F evening canticles, and Elgar’s The Spirit of the Lord.
“With some 40 singers, the sound was magnificent and it was lovely to welcome singers from as far as Wolverhampton!"
