St James’ Manston have been celebrating the start of Advent by sharing collective worship with the local primary school.
As part of the service the children, from Manston St James’ Primary Academy, helped decorate the church by contributing to the Advent wreath in the church.
Each class were also gifted a travelling crib, which had a crib, nativity story book, some prayers, and a colouring sheet.
The crib will visit each family in the school between now and the school holidays.
The church has also been building relationships with the parents at the school, with parents joining in with the collective worship.
The church offers tea and coffee in church straight after school drop off while we wait for the children to come into church after registration.
The Revd Daniel Miles, Priest in Charge at St James’, said: "It has been great to celebrate the start of Advent with Manston St James school by gifting them a travelling crib for each class.
“It is fantastic to know that the light of Jesus will be travelling into family homes as we prepare as a community for the coming of Christ."
