How churches can worship all together in God’s creation is the subject of an upcoming workshop hosted by our Children, Young People and Families Team.
Many churches are exploring what it means to worship together as the whole family of God – all ages, all backgrounds and abilities – and gathering outdoors to encounter God in nature is a wonderful way to do this.
The workshop, entitled ‘Whole Church and Outdoor Worship’, is being run by Engage Worship in partnership with our Children, Young People and Families Team at St Stephen’s West Bowling on Saturday, September 21.
It will help parishes interested in caring for God’s creation, in using church yard space for worship, or in gathering all generations together to worship God, to develop these things in their own specific places and contexts.
Jo Young, Children, Young People and Families Team Member and our Children 0-12 Lead, said: “Since attending the Churchyard Conference in October 2023 organised by the Diocesan Advisory Committee, I have become more aware of churches using their outdoor spaces to help people connect with God.
“Our team is hosting this day to resource and encourage all those who are interested in exploring the power of outdoor and intergenerational worship.”
The day will start at 10am, with refreshments from 9.30am and a lunch will be provided as part of proceedings.
Tickets will cost £10, and you can click here to find out more and to book.
