Diocese of Leeds Interns hold first ever alumni reunion

First published on: 5th April 2023

The first ever Diocese of Leeds Interns reunion was held recently, allowing interns from the last five years to gather and enjoy fellowship together.

26 interns from past and current years reconnected, shared a meal, worshipped and prayed together.

For the 2019-2022 intern cohorts this was something they hadn’t fully experienced due to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns during their internships.

The Revd Joanna Seabourne, our Diocesan Director of Interns, said: “It is such a blessing to have been a part of their journeys as diocesan interns and to now see where they are and how God is still working in their lives.

“They are currently serving in a whole range of different ways: from being a Police officer in training based in the heart of an Eden project,  a worship leader in a large busy church in London, undergoing training for ordination, studying at university, training in healthcare, being a full time mum, working for Saltmine the Christian theatre charity, mission work and setting up a House of Prayer, working for a political party and in business.

“Many who are now working in paid employment are continuing to serve their churches as volunteers.

“It was such a privilege to hear their stories of how God has led them and is using their gifts and skills to serve his kingdom.

“It is also a great encouragement for our current interns who are discerning their next steps from August."

We will be sharing some clips from past and current interns in the months ahead so please do follow the Leeds Diocese Interns Instagram and Leeds Diocese Interns Facebook Page.
